As a CFP ® Professional, Potter's primary focus is on the fee based advisory services she provides as a fiduciary to clients encompassing all areas of finance, investment, business management, and estate planning.
Carrie also specializes in the development, launch, and expansion of brands, business entities and investment ventures from the creation of a business plan > funding strategy > revenue generation > minimization of liabilities > scaling > sustainability or exit.
Potter has vast experience serving as a financial analyst and expert witness for both individuals and businesses in disputes, litigation, and divorce proceedings and offers these services on an hourly basis.
If you are in need of a personal or business financial review on a one-time or recurring basis, Potter offers Financial Fitness consultations as well as ongoing advisory services. The initial evaluation is complimentary, followed by an agreed upon hourly fee or retainer payment. The fee will be dependent on the scope of the engagement.
EDUCATION
Carrie Potter is a Lecturer in the Department of Sport Management at Rice University in Houston, Texas. The department offers two undergraduate degrees: a BA in Sport Management with a concentration in either Sport Law or Sport Leadership, and a BA in Sport Analytics. Since 2020, Rice has topped Niche.com's list of Best Colleges for Sports Management.
Potter created and teaches the Sport Finance class to undergraduate students and serves as an industry expert and media contributor on matters related to sport finance. She has spoken extensively on increased NFL Fan Engagement created by the Taylor Swift Effect, Private Equity Ownership in Professional Sports, and Women in Sports.

COVER TO COVER
Cover to Cover with Carrie is an initiative with the goal of creating dialogue among friends and colleagues about books that challenge and inspire us. These gatherings are held on a quarterly basis.
This summer, we convened to discuss Indivisible: How to Forge Our Differences into a Stronger Future by Denise Hamilton. Following a Q&A Fireside Chat with Denise, an engaged discussion among all attendees ensued. Everyone walked away with a new challenge to identify and talk about the differences among us so that we may shape the future together despite these differences.
CANDID CHATS
Candid Chats with Carrie is an opportunity for dialogue around financial and business matters that matter. These Chats begin with an educational component and lead into an open forum for friends and colleagues to ask questions about the featured topic as it affects their lives.
This fall, we convened to discuss the rising costs and reduced coverage offerings in homeowner's insurance policies. Our guest collaborator was Julie Richt, Principal of Lucid Insurance (and Carrie's sister). It was an opportunity to provide the history and identify the forces driving change to homeowner's coverage. The participants also received a detailed walk-thru of key policy documents and the types of coverage/forms to ensure a full understanding.
